Welcome to the world’s first interactive banner built using Silverlight. It was developed as a proof of concept, to enable all parties to develop a new ad serving platform.

Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-device browser plug-in that helps companies design, develop and deliver rich applications and experiences on the Web and offers a scalable alternative to Flash.

This example showcases two features of Silverlight:

• Deep Zoom: smooth, in-place zooming and panning that Deep Zoom allows is a true advancement and raises the bar on what image viewing should be.
• Smooth Streaming: dynamically detects and seamlessly switches, in real time, the video quality of a media file delivered based on local bandwidth and CPU conditions, providing support for live and on-demand true HD (720p+) streaming.

The project was delivered as a collaboration between Microsoft Advertising, Ad: Dynamo and Metia.
